Students from a wide range of Gap Year programmes including FZY,Yeshivat Ha Kotel and Midreshet Ha Rova gathered to enjoy talks from a variety of individuals including Rabbi Andrew Shaw, Executive Director of Tribe, and Candice Woolfson from Project Chesed. They also heard advice from Jewish Chaplaincy about the support available from their chaplains on UK campuses.
The event was organised by Tribe, in partnership with Jewish Chaplaincy.
Commenting, Rabbi Andrew Shaw said: "Closing the Gap is a crucial event for these Gap Year students. Tribe Israel introduces the students to the issues facing Jewish students in the UK - and the support that is available to them as they start planning for the coming year back home."
As well as being an informative evening, Closing the Gap gave students the valuable opportunity to meet with other students who will be attending their universities, allowing them all to get acquainted before the year begins.
Anoushka Lester, ex JFS student, studying at Baer Miriam said "The event was invaluable for any of us going to university. Now that the year is coming to an end, we have to think about the future as well as say farewell to each other. We also say a sad goodbye to Tribe Israel who has been such an important player in our Gap Year experience."
